At Back to Eden Wellness, we believe healing is more than symptom relief—it's about restoring balance, uncovering root causes, and nurturing the whole person.
1
Our body can be tricky to tame. There are so many things that can affect the material, physical aspect of our being. Addressing one aspect at a time and getting to the root cause is key.
I Corinthians 6: 19-20
2
Our minds are associated with the mental processes of thinking, reasoning and emotions. To be well in body, soul and spirit these aspects also have to be considered.
Philippians 4: 6-7
3
Distinct from the physical body, the soul is the seat of free will and decision-making. It is associated with consciousness, emotions and personality. This part of a being can be corrupted or redeemed.
Matthew 16: 26
The spirit is the source of eternal life and divine connection. Communing with God daily and making this a routine part of your life is essential for overall well-being.
John 4: 24
Hello, my name is Rashelle Wydotis and I have over 30 years of experience in the healthcare field. I started my career as a nurse assistant in June 1993. I received my associate's degree in nursing in May 1996. I worked in the nursing field in many roles before receiving my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in December 2012. I was awarded my Master of Science in Nursing in 2015 from Frontier Nursing University. As a nurse practitioner, I have worked in both family practice and cardiology. Most recently, I completed Functional Nutrition and Medicine training through the American Academy of Functional Health. My passion is to help my patients discover the root cause of their condition and treat this naturally through nutrition, lifestyle and natural supplementation.
Genesis 1:29 - And God said, " I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food."
The Garden of Eden was a paradise where God placed the first humans, Adam and Eve, after their creation. It was a place of abundance and delight, where they lived in peace with God and nature. God created Eden as a special place for Adam and Eve to dwell and cultivate. It was meant to be a place of blessing, provision, and fellowship with God.
"I founded Back to Eden Wellness to help people reconnect with their God-given design for health. Functional Medicine allows us to treat the whole person—body, mind, soul and spirit—with compassion, clarity, and purpose."
You do not have to have another prescription drug to do this!
There are things that you can do to help combat chronic disease like heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity and cancer.
Why Choose Functional Medicine at Back to Eden?
Root Cause Focus: We don’t mask symptoms—we uncover what’s beneath them.
Personalized Care: Your story, your body, your journey. No one-size-fits-all.
Natural Solutions: Nutrition, herbal support, detox, and lifestyle guidance.
Faith-Based Support: We honor the spiritual dimension of healing, inviting God’s wisdom into every step.
Functional Medicine: Whole-Person Healing
Functional Medicine is a personalized, science-based approach that looks beyond the diagnosis. Instead of asking “What disease does this person have?” we ask, “Why is this person unwell?” We explore how your lifestyle, nutrition, stress, environment, and genetics interact to shape your health—and then create a plan that supports your body’s natural healing. It seeks for the CAUSE of the disease, rather than focus on managing the symptoms. For example, focusing on eliminating the factors that increase your inflammation, rather than just addressing the pain (often the result of chronic inflammation).
Conventional Medicine: Disease Management
Conventional Western Medicine excels in acute care—emergencies, infections, surgeries. It’s built on diagnosing and treating symptoms with medications or procedures. While this can be life-saving, it often overlooks the deeper imbalances that cause chronic conditions.
No. The Functional Medicine approach is focused on improving the patient’s health and function, but it does not replace the need for primary care. In some cases, it might be important to manage the patient’s conditions by using prescription or surgery, which a primary care provider or a physician offers.
During the evaluation process, you will be asked about your previous and current lifestyle, diet, and your external environment (work, home, etc.). You will also be asked about the function of different organs and we might look at your labs. During our meeting, we will go over your health concerns and the possible factors that might be aggravating your conditions.
In other words, we will try to understand ‘what’ is driving your inflammation, oxidative stress, hormonal imbalance, damage to the cells, and conditions. Throughout the process, I will provide you with guidance and education so you can move towards better function and health.
